Our physicians and trauma team are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our Emergency Department nursing staff is very experienced and professional. SMC requires advanced certification for their emergency nursing staff in the following areas:

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • TNCC - Trauma Nursing Care Curriculum
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support

 

Sakakawea Medical Center's Emergency Department is a Level IV Trauma designation with the following services:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Intravenous Antibiotic Therapy
  • Intravenous Hydration Therapy
  • Blood Transfusions
  • Wound Management
  • Emergency Obstetrics
  • Outpatient Medication Injections

SMC's Emergency Department staff is prepared to see a variety of cases that come to an emergency room.
